Contentment is the most important and fundamental act of the heart. Through this act, the servant can attain a station surpassing that of those who exhaust their bodies in the performance of good deeds, while the deeds of the former are less than those of the latter. Ibn al-Qayyim? states: “The path of contentment and love carries the servant while he is sprawled on his couch. He then finds himself far ahead of the itinerants.”
