Pride is a serious illness of the soul. It constitutes an ethical deviation that leads man astray from the right path and truth to the paths of ruin and evil. Its consequences here and in the hereafter are disastrous, since pride harms the servant's relationship with his Lord, with his fellow believers, and with society as a whole.
